Summary of 'Gravity'

To begin with, 'Gravity' (the movie) has a purpose behind its name and that purpose will be understood only when you watch the movie. People frequently think that the force of gravity is bad, useless and irritating but let us not forget the other side of this force. Without gravity, I would not be able to write my blog! You would not be able to read my blog! But above all, you could not sit, stand or do anything without gravity!

Coming back to the topic, the movie focuses on courage, knowledge and intellectuality by the astronauts. The movie is inspired by a true story of Apollo 13 when a lot of debris from the Soviet Union Rocket Launch collide with the space shuttle and demolishes everything. Well, from a point of view, one can say that these astronauts could save their lives if they had listened to Mr. Houston from the blind. The view of Earth from outer space was gorgeous and the Earth looked massive.

It was a very happy and jocund beginning for a quarter of an hour. They receive a warning saying that an enormous pack of debris from Russia is coming at a speed of 230 km/hr. They think that the debris will change its course but their presumption turns out to be wrong. They receive an emergency message to immediately evacuate to the space shuttle but one of the female astronaut(who is the only survivor) ignores the warning and wastes two minutes. As everyone is about to get aboard, the storm strikes the place and the space shuttle explodes and there are only two survivors(the woman who wastes two minutes and a lieutenant). The woman is constantly rotating and her oxygen level falls to 10%.

Both the astronauts lose contact with each other as well as NASA. Co-incidentally, both of them meet each other but the woman has less oxygen and thereby is pulled by the lieutenant to the ISS(International Space Station). As they are about to be successful, the lieutenant collides with the woman(Dr. Ryan) and the rope comes out of the woman. The lieutenant says that one of them dies and that is him or else both of them die. There is melancholy for a few minutes and then the woman realizes that she is becoming unconscious as she is inhaling carbon dioxide. She quickly rushes up to the airhole and breathes normally. But that is not the end!

As she moves towards the cockpit, there is a short-circuit and the entire space station catches fire. The woman manages to escape into the other part of the space station. But unfortunately, the fuel turns out to be empty and she decides to commit suicide. But as she goes to sleep, she has a premonition of the lieutenant break open the door and guide her to go back to Earth. The way is to go to the Chinese Space Station and perform a safe landing.

As she enters the Chinese Space Station, it catches fire as it enters the Earth's atmosphere at a very high speed. The space shuttle lands into a river. The river's name and geographic location is not mentioned so I cannot tell which river and which country. The woman comes out of the water and lies down on the soil for a while and then after many tries, she stands up and the screen blacks out.
